Grants funded:

2011 - 2013

How to add your project to the list this year:

A Few Key Points:

  • Anyone can apply, affiliation with a state or federal resource management agency not required.

  • You can submit your application anytime.

  • Applications will be reviewed by individual committee members ASAP and discussed at the next quarterly meeting (February, May, August, November) or by conference call if needed.

  • Grants can be for any amount, but amount is a factor. The Trust fund is limited so reducing overhead and equipment costs is strongly encouraged.

  • Grants are awarded to those applicants whose projects best meet the criteria stated in the Settlement Agreement and listed on the application instructions, and the Committee’s Mission, which is:

“To fund and support sustainable long-term, cost effective projects
that protect or restore fish and their habitat above the McNary Dam.”

HOW TO APPLY

There are two approaches to applying for a grant:

  1. Submit a Preliminary Application.

If you are unsure your project meets the required criteria or if the committee would be interested in your type of project, you can use the Preliminary Application.   It is a condensed version of the full application intended to save preparation time and effort but still provide enough information for the Committee to assess the potential of the project.  Brevity is encouraged, stick to the Who, What, Where, Why and for how much. If the Committee is interested in the project, the applicant will be asked to prepare a full application.

If you work for an agency that has a representative on the Committee, you may want to talk to them first to get their impression of your project.  They should have an idea of how the project would be received by the Committee. Below is a link to the Preliminary Application.

2. Submit a Regular Application.

If you are confident that your project aligns well with the grant criteria or if you have previous experience with the McNary Fisheries Compensation Committee and believe the project would be well received, you may want to prepare a complete application straight away.  The link for the Full Application is below.
